Independence Day Poems

"We are Pakistanis , Bold and Free,
We love our country.

We salute our flag with love and pride,
And standing side by side.".
Let's well realize the truthful score.
We need our troops just like before.

Boils down to this, words to engrave.
Land of The Free, Due to The Brave.

God Bless each one for being there.
Their loved ones too, unending care.

Hope born from love touches the will.
Do back them strong, means to fulfill.
A nations wealth is not it's wheat, oil or gold
But the people who live there both young and old.
Their wealth is a product of mans daily toil
Be they swing wars saber or plow God's soil.
It was Fourth of July weekend
Piedmont Park
Sun shining
Lovers walking
The way you love for your day to begin
Fifty days of independence from you
You that I am when finally I sleep
Where colors blur into a muddy brown
and almond eyes are star tingly blue
You are my context' my only clue

When freedom, from her mountain height
Unfurled her standard to the air,
She tore the azure robe of night
And set the stars of glory there.
She mingled with its gorgeous dyes
The milky baldric of the skies,
Then from his mansion in the sun
She called her eagle-bearer down
And gave into his mighty hand
The symbol of her chosen land.
Called
To serve
Called
To give
Trained
To protect
Those who can't

Give
All we have
Ask
Nothing in return
To live in peace
Is all our hearts yearn

It's duty
And respect
For the jobs we do
Though sometimes deadly
We see
Every job through
The People of today
just rant and rave.
They burn my symbol of freedom,
I just want to grab and shake them.
They have no sense of pride,
For your beauty you never denied.

Like my brothers before me,
I have fought to keep your colors free.
With every battle that we had won,
you were there to show who was number one.
When our brothers had died,
you caressed their bodies with pride.

They say "we the people" started this nation that endures
The beautiful land that is mine, the same land that is yours
Founding fathers knew eternity is a right smart piece of time
As they pleaged alligegiance to the source of their rhythm and rhyme
Must "we" became "they" at the end of the day,
or does every generation have something to say?
"O say can you see, by the dawn's early light,"
was it "we" or "they" that gives us the right?
Our Nation's Flag is a stirring sight
As it flutters proudly in the breeze
Its colors of blue, red and white
Mean so much to you and me
Red stands for courage and hardiness
The white means innocence and purity
Blue for justice, perserverance and vigilance
In its promise to keep us free.

This banner stands for a bountiful land,
Its government, people, and ideals,
The stripes from the thirteen colonies stand,
Its symbolism is very real.
Each State now is represented
By a star of white on blue
President Washington first presented
The American Flag to You.
Along the street there comes
A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums,
A flash of color beneath the sky:
Hats off!
The flag is passing by!

Blue and crimson and white it shines,
Over the steel-tipped, ordered lines.
Hats off!
The colors before us fly;
But more than the flag is passing by.
